Metro Atlanta’s classrooms may be full, but the teaching positions aren’t.
According to an article in the AJC, only Cobb County was fully staffed when children went back to school this school year. Hundreds of teaching positions remain available in school districts around the state.
That’s opportunity for those seeking teaching positions. Here are three things for an educator to consider when they accept a new teaching position:
Understand every detail in your contract. You’ll want to make sure you understand all the details contained within your contract..
Double-check your social media accounts. Many school systems have social media policies or guidelines that include personal social media sites. For example, DeKalb County School System’s social media guidelines include recommendations about tagging other teachers, transparency and use of school logos. It also prohibits posting “personally identifiable information” about students on personal social media pages.
Join the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE). The 41-year-old organization provides a variety of important services to more than 90,000 educators across the state.
